Digvijay Din Samaroh

September 11 is celebrated as 'Digvijay Din'. On this day in 1893 Swami Vivekananda gave the speech in Chicago that brought about profound change of western world to look at East. He represented India and Hinduism. He began his speech with, "Sisters and brothers of America!". To these words he got a standing ovation from a crowd of seven thousand, which lasted for two minutes. He greeted the youngest of the nations in the name of "the most ancient order of monks in the world, the Vedic order of sannyasins, a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance.” Despite being a short speech, it voiced the spirit of the Hinduism and its sense of universality.

Swami Vivekananda Youth Study Centre, Dr. J. N. Mehta Government Polytechnic, Amreli organized and celebrated 'Digvijay Din' on 11th September, 2013. It was coordinated by Mr. K. D. Ramanuj, Lecturer in English, in the active guidance of Principal, Shree M. K. Shukla and co-coordinator of Swami Vivekananda Youth Study Centre, Dr. J. N. Mehta Government Polytechnic, Mr. H. B. t was the time for the main event of the day, the drama then. The drama was about the mighty tradition of India and the great wisdom of Swamiji. The atmosphere in the hall became exciting as the actors entered in the hall. It was set in the kingdom of the king of Alvar.

The play kicked off with the entry of Swamiji in Alver. The attraction of the drama was the conversation between King of Alver (enacted by Siyatar Krunal) and Swamiji (enacted by Barad Abhishek) on Idol Worship (Moortipooja). Kotadita Rakshit and Parmar Sandip acted as courtiers in the drama. Students of Electronics & Communication Department have prepared a unique project for physically handicapped persons who have lost their hands and legs and are not able to move on their own. Life of these persons completely depend on others for all the day to day work. This project helps these persons by enabling them to move freely using their voice.
This project allows the user to move the chair by using pre-built commands such as FORWARD, BACKWARD, LEFT, RIGHT, STOP, etc. Currently the chair can carry a 75-80kg of weight. Approximate cost is Rs.22000 to Rs.25000.
The Project has been prepared by Sixth Semester Students of Electronics & Communication Department Hemang Pandhi, Ankita Thummar, Yash Manavadariya, Urvashi Visani and Chandani Bhatti under guidance of our faculty Mr. Chintan K. Umraliya.
